Janet is a clinical psychologist with extensive experience in treating adults and older adolescents who present with a broad range of mental health issues which include depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, addiction problems and eating disorders. Janet has a special interest in complex trauma and helping people whose childhood and family dysfunction has impacted on their capacity to live full and meaningful lives. Additionally, she is also interested in treating emotional dysregulation and related issues such as destructive coping behaviours, self-harm, eating problems, and low self-esteem.
Janet has experience working in various settings such as community mental health services, a non-profit organisation and private practice. She is passionate about understanding each individual deeply and is various evidence-based interventions such as CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy and DBT to aid people in improving their quality of life. Janet completed her Master of Psychology (Clinical) and is a Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Janet believes that an open, empathic and nonjudgmental approach is paramount to forming a strong client-therapist relationship. She has a deep respect for people who demonstrate courage in being able to face their issues and navigate obstacles to resolve them. She is honoured to be able to support people along their personal journey.
