Q: How much is the cost per session?
The Clinicians in the practice are either Clinical Psychologists or highly experienced Registered Psychologists. Their rates are set a little below the Australian Psychological Society's Recommended rate which is currently $218 per hour. If costs are an issue then either group programs or final year university interns are sometimes an option. Please raise this as a concern when you speak to the Clinical Director, Natasha Davis, who can give you options to balance the cost of treatment with your particular needs.
Fees are based on a 50 min hour with 10 min note taking time and are charged proportionally for contact (in person, phone or email); report preparation and court waiting time. Fees are payable at the time of consultation. Cash, cheque and Credit Card payments are accepted, but EFTPOS (Cheque and Savings accounts) is not accepted. Medicare rebates are available for clients who have a GP Mental Health Care Plan in place. Some private health funds also cover part of the fees but Medicare and private health fund rebates can not be claimed concurrently.
Please note that unless there are exceptional circumstances the full fee is charged for sessions that are cancelled less than one business day (24 hours) prior to the scheduled appointment time.
